Ice Massage Therapy:
Application of ice slows down swelling that forms as a result of injury of muscles. Also, it slows down the process of inflammation and this in turn gives relief from pain. Ice massage should be applied to the affected area (especially on ligament, tendon, and muscular injuries) with slow, circular strokes. Ice massage plays the role of local anesthesia. It numbs the painful tissues and helps a great deal in alleviating pain.
